Going forward into 2024 the Ballymena based MAC has the following clubs in membership.Ballymena & District, Ahoghill Flying Club, Rasharkin & Dist, Randalstown HPS,Kells & District, Cullybackey HPS, Broughshane & District and Harryville HPS.. New officials are Chairman Robin Service from Ballymena & District and Secretary Willie Reynolds from Ballymena & District. President is Danny Dixon. Mervyn Eagleson is PO. All the latest news and results will be listed here, including Champions League and OB & YB Knock-out. Fees for 2024 are £5.00 for Clubs which includes all the members.

Mid Antrim Combine - NIPA Grenagh 17th May 2025
Top Card For Gary Gibson Of Cullybackey

The racing season continued with the fifth race from a new liberation site Grenagh in County Cork. Birds were released on Saturday 17th May at 8.30am in northerly winds. Mid Antrim Combine winner this week was Gary Gibson of Cullybackey who timed a 2yo dark Lambrecht x Vandenbrande widowhood hen to record 1335ypm. Her sire and dam have both won two firsts, the sire being a grandson of Danny Dixon's Heartbreaker and dam bred by DCP McArdle is from their No.1 Vandenbrande's. Gary's fourth bird timed at 9th Combine is nestmate to the winner, and won 1st club and 2nd Combine last season from Fermoy.

Runner up in the Combine and 1st in Ballymena & District was Shane Johnston & Son on 1329. Shane timed a 3yo cheq cock Donckers x Lambrecht from good friend Gary Gibson. The cock won the Fermoy 5 Bird Centre a couple of years ago and also won as a youngster.

Best in Ahoghill were Paddy & William McManus on 1323. The loft's had a bad trap but still managed to win the club and take the top five positions. Their winner a blue Alex Docx cock is the same way bred as the one they bred Martin Graham last season that finished 8th Open in the Infc Penzance YB National. Harry Boyd had the top two in Kells on 1312. His winner a 2yo blue Soontjen cock from Sam Ogle lines. Smylie Brothers were at the top in Randalstown on 1312 with a red chequer yearling cock feeding two big youngsters. Harold Cubitt won Rasharkin for the second week in a row on 1297 with his good cheq cock 'Billy Joe' called after Billy & Joe Smyth who Harold purchased his shed from a couple of years ago. This was the first bird to win a race into Harold's new lofts and the cock has now won 8 races to date and 2 x 1st Combine Alastair Purvis was again best in Broughshane for the second week on 1204.
