Glenarm boys lead the way from Penzance!
With 4741 pigeons competing the convoy was liberated @ 13.00 in Penzance. As usual there’s always the questions about what sort of race you would get but for the leaders, they made tidy work of it!
It gives me great pleasure to announce the winner of the EAA this week is general all round top bloke Dwayne McMullan, followed in very closely by another club mate Pat O’Neill.
These two chaps are always there abouts when it comes to channel races.
Dwayne’s winner is a blue cock raced on widowhood Alfie Hawthorne x Ian Gray .
He won the previous year from the first Dale
This week he claims 1st sec C, 5th open NIPA
His 2nd pigeon finishes 8th sec C, 39th open NIPA. After a smashing result in Bude the week before the blue hen could be bound for retirement as she has a list of 1st prizes sec and open positions to her name! Penzance classic for these two are 1st sec C, 5th open & 6th sec c 27th open NIPA with the McMullan lads finishing 1st 2nd & 3rd in the Glenarm club !!
There is a number of reasons that this result is special, but the main one is, and I’ve touched on this before would be the location of racing into Glenarm! In my opinion on my travels, I would say it is one of the two single hardest locations to race pigeons on this island, the other being Strabane / north west!
Everyone at the Glenarm club & the EAA wants to pass on their big congratulations on this super win, and with St. Malo still to come there may be more to follow!
2nd EAA this week is Pat O’Neill with another belter grizzle from his hand built family of hard nose channel pigeons, a lifetime of experience racing with his mother and father have brought some top results and this one has to be up there as well ! He finishes 2nd sec c, 7th open NIPA!
A massive well done to Pat and Mrs O’ Neill to!
With one O/B race still to go I can confirm this season’s champion O/B cup winner is Davy Campbell of D&J Campbell Eastway.
Only finishing outside the top 6 once this season it has brought the following results
1x 1st
3x 2nd
2x 3rd
2x 5th
1x 6th
1x 19th
A bumper season for Davy, I would personally like to congratulate you on yet another trophy!
Well done fella!!
So, finishing up I wish you all good luck for the St Malo O/B Derby and indeed anyone competing in the Kings up to!
Good luck and keep er lit!
P.s A mention to Crawford & Robinson who had 4 in the EAA result as well as a lethal club card in Larne & district! Well done lads

EAA press officer Jonny Baxter
