Roscrea Y/B 2/8/25
The third race of the y/b programme took us to the Roscrea area Co Tipperary where the main
convoy (excluding section H) were liberated at 9am in a light s/sw wind.
Winning the EAA this week are the Larne & District partnership of GK&I Moxham, no strangers to
success with 2 previous national wins under the belt with “Millbrae Boy & Karen’s Pride” these wins
came at the time where pigeon racing was simply thriving & the birdage was at its peak!
Observing the partnership over the last few years it’s clear to see them working their way back to
those glory days with a mix of hard graft and some fresh stock!
A bitter sweet victory after talking to Ian this evening, with the hen arriving like a train only to be
spooked with a potential sparrowhawk & seagulls nearby costing upwards of 4 minutes,
nevertheless they are top of the pile regardless and surely is one to watch out for!
Breeding of the hen is
Sire from Hugh Bigger
Dam from Robert Rea
Two lofts you couldn’t ask better from with Rab now having a hand in the two winners in the EAA on
the trot! Hugh establishing a family of pigeons on his return to the sport now producing winners for
himself and others!
I would like to personally congratulate the moxys as every Wednesday night when we used to do the
crates in Larne, Ian always had advice and help for the rest of us!
There was always a discussion to be had with the late Owen Donnelly & Tam Brown, those days
were great craic and are sorely missed!
Well done Gordon, Karen & Ian another super result for you all!
