JACKIE CROSSAN WINS 1ST & 2ND OPEN MALLOW
The East Down Combine were in Mallow (Co.Cork) on May22nd for the 4th race of the season and with a good day in prospect with a NW wind the convoy of just over 4,500 birds were released at 8.30am and with the West in the wind the leading birds recorded velocities in the 1400’s .
Leading the Open and East Section result with two together was the Downpatrick loft of Jackie Crossan to take 1st and 2nd open and Section with a further three birds at 11th ,12th and 13th open .
Annalong’s Rooney family had another good race with 3rd ,5th, 16th ,17th ,28th ,32nd,33rd 34th & 38th open . The Newtownbreda lofts of B Hogg & Sons were 4th open and top the West section and then its back to Downpatrick for 4 together for Phillip McCullough & dtr . The Open top ten were completed by the Portavogie partnership of R & G Thompson .

Obituary
It is with deep regret that I have to report to the Fancy the death of Mrs Jane (Jeannie) McCavery ,the dearly loved mother of the East Down Combine and INFC chairman Leonard . To Leonard and the wider family circle may I pass on our sincere condolences at this sad time .

Obituary
It is with deep regret that I have to report to the Fancy the death of Mrs Jane (Jeannie) McCavery ,the dearly loved mother of the East Down Combine and INFC chairman Leonard . To Leonard and the wider family circle may I pass on our sincere condolences at this sad time .
