Obituary. Durrant Melville, Penzance Cornwall.
It is with great sadness I report the sudden passing of Melville on 2nd August.
Melville was the site manager of the Princess May Recreation Grounds liberation site Penzance. Melville took a great interest in the liberations and welfare of the drivers and convoyers from Northern Ireland. In 2009 he negotiated with Cornwall County Council to have the release site reinstated after it was closed in 2003. On behalf of the Irish National Flying Club and all other organisation we send condolences to Melville’s family at this sad time. Melville was a good friend of the Irish pigeon racing organisations and will be sadly missed. Trevor Topping INFC Secretary.
