NIPA 5 BIRD WEEKEND
Up next for my N.I.P.A. Race Report is the annual 5 Bird YB Championship Race. It was time to
nominate 5 of their YB Race team along and as always, a normal YB race held within each other. The
N.I.P.A. held the race from Corrin in Co. Cork. A Total of 321 members of the N.I.P.A. sent a total of
7,902 Birds to Corrin Overall. A Total of 128 Members Nominated 609 Birds for the 5 Bird
Championship Race. On Sunday morning the 24 th of August the N.I.P.A. Liberated in Corrin at 9:AM in
a Light South East wind.

The Winning Bird from the sixth Youngbird Race of the N.I.P.A. Season belongs to A. McCrudden of
Derry & District H.P.S. in Section H.

SECTION C REPORT
The Winner of Section C (56/1,179) from Corrin & Corrin 5 Bird (14/59) was J&D Braniff of Glen
H.P.S. The Braniff’s of Glen H.P.S. Won both Section C from Corrin & 5 Bird Races and also achieved a
top class finish in 5 th N.I.P.A. Open from the Overall Corrin Race (7,902 Birds) and 7 th N.I.P.A. Open
from the Corrin 5 Bird Race (609 Birds)

To date, a turbulent yb season arrived at corrin for our gold ring race
Ripping in to take the red card is Carrick social stalwart George Robinson.
Details of the winning pigeon is as follows.
GB25 C 19013 Mr Noluck. This young cocks breeding is steeped with winners. The sire being a son of
Olympic 439. The 439 cock and his nest bro 440 were the 2 best racing cocks at FBI and are direct of
Dr No X Sirena Flanders collection. And the Dam a winner on the road herself is a dtr of All in one, a
red cock again purchased from my friend Sheldon Leonard and contains the Kittle and Bolt lines.
These pigeons have been producing winners for George since their introduction, and have proved
they have what it takes to compete at the top!

SECTION D REPORT
The Winner of Section D (51/1,055) from Corrin was O&M Monaghan of Colin H.P.S. A top
performance gaining a top finish in their club (136 Birds) carrying into the Section placings in
Winning 1 st Section D (1,055 Birds) and overall in the N.I.P.A. won a great prize in 7 th Open (7,902
Birds). The Monaghan’s Section D Winning pigeon GB25 C 31439 is a Willem de Brin Hen. Parents are
from Clive Lister of York. This hen was also 11 th Section Dunmanway and 16 th Section from Grenagh.

SECTION D REPORT – 5 Bird
The Winner of Section D (23/110) from Corrin 5 Bird was J. Gregory & Sons of Colin H.P.S. The
Gregorys had great overall performance from both races ultimately Winning 1 st Section D (110 Birds)
and overall in the N.I.P.A. had a fantastic result in finishing 2 nd Open (609 Birds). The Gregory’s
Section D Winning pigeon GB25 C 31602 is a blue cock and he was racing to a pair of eggs. He is a
Grandson of their number 1 stock hen being bred from a full sister to their Skibbereen YB National
Winner. The Sire of the Section winner was a gift from their good friends and clubmates O&M
Monaghan. They actually finished 2 nd Section in the 5 Bird aswell with the mate of the winner who is
also a grandchild of their number 1 hen.

SECTION F REPORT
The Winner of Section F (22/377) from Corrin was Lambert & Stewart of Bangor R.P.C. The top flying
partnership wins their Club (88 Birds) And also takes home another Section F Win for the year (377
Birds) and overall in the N.I.P.A. Open placings won 227 th Open from Corrin (10,038 Birds) from Cliff. I
Was told many years ago by an old fancier ‘the best pigeons you’ll ever get son will be given to you’
when I asked why he said. ‘when someone gives you a bird they want to succeed and so give you the
best that they can’. I can categorically say he was right. I want to thank the following friends for
gifting me some outstanding ybs. David Moore of R. Moore & Son. Jim Burgess of Burgess &
Brennan. Dean Grieves of Killyleagh. At the start of the year David loaned me a hen to pair to my
double section winner from 2024. This hen’s pedigree is studded with open & section winners and
bred Ivor a blue cock who was 1 st Club, 1 st Section Grenagh. He also bred ‘Little Meg’ this hen is from
a Dtr of ‘JK2’ Stefan Lambrechts hen. Her Sire is the ‘Danny Cock’ breeder of club & section winners
and a sister of S&S Browns awesome breeder ‘Reggie’. ‘Little Meg’ Won 1 st Club, 2 nd Section Fermoy
& 1 st Club, 12 th Section Dunmanway National. Jim Burgess bred and gifted ‘Little Blackie’ a Dtr of his
section winner out of Dale paired to a half brother of his open winner from Bude. ‘Little Blackie’ won
1 st Club, 1 st Section Cloughmartin & 4 th Club,8 th Section Dale YB National winning £198. He also bred
Cheq 94 for the special ring event from Dunmanway. ‘Cheq 94’ was 2 nd Club, 14 th Section
Dunmanway winning a total of £176. Dean Grieves bred and gifted some ybs the best of these being
‘Red Adair’ is a son of his Mick Betts cock sire of 2 section F Winners paired to McCartan & Woodside
hen, Dam of 3 section f winners & now at least 8x1st Club Winners. ‘The Barron’ 1 st Club, 1 st Section
