Obituary Bryan Clayburn -

Post by willie reynolds »

It is with a heavy heart I announce the passing of Brian Clayburn. Brian sadly passed away age 83 years on 4th April at elm park nursing home doncaster. It was a privilege to be Brian's loft manager for 20 odd years, with many memories racing pigeons and seeing his family grow up. One teatime he said to me I'm going to Belgium to buy some pigeons look after the loft you will be OK I have faith in you. When he came back he was over the moon that week we were 1st club 1st fed 1st yorkshire rose combine also 1st whiteley bridge 2 bird club 10th combine from Fareham. The following week 1st club 1st fed 1st yorkshire rose combine partly. He obviously taught me well. Brian's pigeons were responsible for many winners all over the UK and Ireland. Just a few performances from Brian's own loft, 1st Chris's Catterall nantes race open to all yorkshire and Lancashire 30000 plus pigeons. Colin osman memorial trophy.French one loft race winner, this young hen was up with a combine old and young birds 10th combine over 10000 birds. Also year after 2nd 3rd 6th 8th French one loft race. Sun city million dollar race winner something no other loft in the UK achieved. South Yorkshire amal winner Conisbrough y b open 1st 6 the first loft to achieve this. Big Barnsley fed y b championship winner with multiple pigeons. Many club ,open, federation wins,in fact Brian has been highest prize winner in every federation he has raced in.I could go on and on with his results. My condolences to all the family.
RIP my mate gone but never forgotten

Barry Hames.
