New NIPA Press Officer – I would like to inform everyone that I have been newly elected as Press Officer for the NIPA and will be covering Sections C, D, F and G in the NIPA in this forthcoming season 2024. I kindly ask for all the Club Secretaries or race Secretaries within these sections to get in contact with me highlighting their club and contact details for the future publication of results, loft reports and any other information for publication. JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G

MIGHTY N.I.P.A. SUCCESS FROM ROSCREA

After the Season Opener from Kilbeggan was ticked off the calendar, the Members of the Mighty N.I.P.A. turned their attention to the Second Race of the 2025 N.I.P.A Old Bird Season which took place on Saturday the 26th of April as scheduled with the weather holding up for a great race in store. A total of 641 Members sent 19,571 Birds to Roscrea in County Tipperary. The Birds were liberated at 11:15AM in a Light Southwest Wind.

The Winning Bird from the second Old Bird Race of the 2025 Season belongs to B&D Coyle of Coleraine Premier H.P.S in Section A.
Many Congratulations to B&D Coyle on claiming 1st & 2nd N.I.P.A. Open from Roscrea.
Also, Congratulations to 3rd Open Winner R. Williamson of Bondhill Social in Section E.



SECTION C REPORT
The Winner of Section C (107/3,162) from Roscrea was J&D Braniff of Glen H.P.S. Joe & David top Glen Club while also taking 5 positions of the top 6 (161 Birds) The Braniff’s topped Section C (3,162 Birds) while in the N.I.P.A. Open placings finished 99th Open (19,571 Birds). The Section Winning pigeon is a Yearling Hen raced on the roundabout system GB24 V 31149. She was bred by their good friend Ciaran Mc Veigh from the best of his Vervoort’s. Joe & David would like to thank Ciaran for breeding this winner for them.

Race week number 2 saw a significant increase in birdage as the NIPA approached the 20,000 mark for the second race of the Season from Roscrea!
Weather conditions were excellent and the good race that was expected went ahead with the convoy being liberated at 11.15 am
Taking top spot in the Amal this week are the doagh duo of A&N Lewis!
They timed a super blue yearling cock flown on widowhood, may I also add the lads only sent 11 cocks which makes the result of 6th section C, 161st open all the sweeter!
Breeding of the cock is from the partnerships top producing luc vervoort cock x a special hen from cock crow lofts
Credit where it’s due, smashing result and well done to you both.
Week 3 is scheduled for cloughmartin I would like to wish everyone good luck for it!

The Winner of Section D (67/2,225) from Roscrea was R. Keegan & Son of Dromore H.P.S. The Partnership of Brian & Sharon Won 1st Club in Dromore (340 Birds) and on the day where Section D Winners from Roscrea (2,225 Birds) also obtaining a great result in finishing 20th N.I.P.A. Open. (19,571 Birds) The Section Winning pigeon is a 3 year old cock who has been a consistent pigeon without previously winning. His Sire is a good racing cock and the Dam won two firsts including winning the channel fed. She was bred by Bingham & Seaton.

The Father & Son partnership of Kevin & Son Kristopher Took home a clean sweep in the Annalong Result and Won 1st & 2nd Section F (2,063 Birds) The Rooney’s Section Winner is a 3 year old Hen GB22 A 81390. She is a granddaughter of their Number 1 Cock ‘The Great Guss.’ She has been a brilliant racing hen for them including 2nd Open EDC Penzance Prize Winner last year. 2nd Section Winner is a 2 year old Cock IHU23 N 16202. His Sire is from Phillip Boal and he has bred numerous winners and is the father and grandfather to a Section Winner. The Dam is a Van Den Bulck Hen and she has bred 2 Section Winners now and is down from the Kittle hen obtained from John Angwin. 2nd Section bird is a blue widowhood cock GB24 X 14276 His Sire is from Phillip Boal and Dam is from Jason Whitten. 3rd Section pigeon is a 2 year old roundabout hen GB23 D 20615.
