New NIPA Press Officer – I would like to inform everyone that I have been newly elected as Press Officer for the NIPA and will be covering Sections C, D, F and G in the NIPA in this forthcoming season 2024. JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G
FUN FLYING FROM FERMOY
The Mighty N.I.P.A. Old Bird Season is up and running with 3 Races under their belts and plenty more to come. This week’s Race was from Fermoy in Co. Cork. The N.I.P.A. members race marked as normal on Friday for a Liberation on Saturday the 10th of May . A total of 687 Members sent 22,595 Birds to Fermoy in County Cork. The Birds were liberated at 09:00AM in a Light South Wind.
The Open Winning Bird from the fourth Old Bird Race of the 2025 Season belongs to S&J Bones of Muckamore H.P.S in Section B.
Many Congratulations to S&J Bones on claiming 1st N.I.P.A. Open from Fermoy.
Also, Congratulations to 2nd Open S. Murphy of Cullybackey H.P.S. in Section B. And Congratulations to 3rd Open Winner K. Henderson & Son of Lurgan Social H.P.S. in Section E.
SECTION C REPORT
The Winner of Section C (106/3,334) from Fermoy was W R McClean of Carrick Social. The Carrick Social flyers took top spot in their club (249 Birds) along with a top award in Winning Section C (3,334 Birds) In the Open they were rewarded with 49th N.I.P.A. Open (22,595 Birds). Their Fermoy Section C Winner GB23 C 33266 is a Blue Chequer Hen. She is a Lambrecht from a batch of 6 from Derek Parr.

Round 4 of the old bird season took us to Fermoy Co.cork, with conditions near on perfect and another bumper convoy the liberation took place at 9am.
Taking top spot this week is EAA regular D&J Campbell, Davy has informed me the winner has already won the Eastway club from roscrea finishing 2nd EAA that day!

SECTION D REPORT
The Winner of Section D (77/2,619) from Fermoy was Abernethy & Turner of Harmony H.P.S. The 2 Johns took the top 3 positions in Harmony H.P.S. (145 Birds) and topped that result by winning 1st Section D (2,619 Birds) in the N.I.P.A. Open. They finished 26th position (22,595 Birds) This is their First section D win as a partnership. Their Section Winner GB23 A 370286 is a 2yr old Herman Ceuster cock flew as a Hen in the young bird season and bred from two Tommy McKinstry stock birds hence the name ‘Harmony Tomboy’. This is his 3rd win previously winning as a youngster and yearling.

He has been a very consistent bird for them Previously Winning 1st Club Roscrea. 4th Newry Centre Skibbereen and other Open Positions. His Sire is ‘02’ Bred & Raced by themselves who won 3rd National Skibbereen 5,234 Birds. The Dam is a Gift Hen from their good friend Gary McLoughlin. We will be running a Grizzle Race for Young Birds, this will take place on 9th August, currently planned to be Cloughmartin, and again, all entry money will be paid out in full.
