New NIPA Press Officer – I would like to inform everyone that I have been newly elected as Press Officer for the NIPA and will be covering Sections C, D, F and G in the NIPA in this forthcoming season 2024. I kindly ask for all the Club Secretaries or race Secretaries within these sections to get in contact with me highlighting their club and contact details for the future publication of results, loft reports and any other information for publication. ‘CLOUGHEY’ CLOCKS OPEN WINNING VELOCITY FOR DAVY & MADDIE

For my report this week the N.I.P.A. held two races for the N.I.P.A. The annual Penzance/Penzance Classic Race and Final Inland Race. Up first in my report is the Inland Race from Cloughmartin in Co. Tipperary. The Members of the Mighty N.I.P.A. Race marked in their clubs on Friday the 20th of June for the last club race of the 2025 Old Bird Season. A total of 253 Members sent 3,338 Birds to Cloughmartin 3. On Saturday the 21st of June the Birds were liberated at 09:45AM in a South West Wind.

The Open Winning Bird from the Final Old Bird Inland Race of the 2025 Season belongs to D. McElhone & Dtr of Eastway H.P.S in Section C.

Davy & Maddie’s 1st Open Cloughmartin 3 Winner IHU24 N 11249 has been named ‘Cloughey’ The newly crowned Open Winner is a Yearling that was summer bred and were just trained as young birds. The Sire is from John Wheatcroft and the Dam is from Ian Gibb. The McElhone’s would like to thank John & Ian for the Parents and also a big thanks to the lads in the Ligoniel Centre for accommodating their birds being race marked so Davy could get to work.
Their 2nd Open winner IHU24 N 11252 is also a full Sister to 1st Open Winner. Super breeding from a super pair of birds.

SECTION C REPORT
The Winner of Section C (29/339) from Cloughmartin 3 was D. McElhone & Dtr of Eastway H.P.S. (See Opening Report for more Information) Davy & Maddie had a super result from Cloughmartin winning 1st & 2nd Club and in the Section prizes winning 1st & 2nd Section C (339 Birds) and Overall, in the N.I.P.A. Open was rewarded with a super result in 1st & 2nd N.I.P.A. Open and also many other positions including having 4 in the Top 10 in the Open. (3,338 Birds)

The Winner of Section D (37/599) from Cloughmartin 3 was I. Rollins & Son of Hillsborough & Maze H.P.S. Clyde won his Club along with 3rd position (136 Birds) And finished in pole position in Section D (599 Birds) and in the Open won 6th N.I.P.A. Open (3,338 Birds) The 1st Section D Winning Bird for Clyde GB24 A 08146. Was also 126th Open in the Yearling National. The Sire of this bird is also a Section Winner, and the Grand Sire has bred 3 Section Winners all coming down from Paul Janssens Line. The Dam of the Section Winner is a Club Winner and Grand Dam is a NIPA National Winner from Skibbereen again coming down from Paul Janssens Line. Half Sister won INFC North Section from Skibbereen.

The Winner of Section F (51/517) from Cloughmartin 3 was W. Leckey of Newtownards H.P.S. The Newtownards flyer had a great finish from Cloughmartin in Winning 1st & 2nd Section F (517 Birds) and overall winning 120th & 142nd in the N.I.P.A. Open (3,338 Birds) The 1st Section F Winning pigeon for Billy IHU23 N 01350 was bred by R. Hogg & Son. A 2 year old hen flew n the roundabout and has won many prizes at club and section level. 2nd Club, 2nd Section was bred by A Lindors. A yearling hen flew on the roundabout and has won a few prizes in the last two seasons bred from the best of Gregg and McCandless birds.

SECTION G REPORT
The Winner of Section G (16/340) from Cloughmartin 3 was Mr & Mrs G. Delaney of Dromore H.P.S. The successful racing partnership took a clean sweep in the top 6 positions in their club of Dromore H.P.S (138 Birds) and topping that great feat in winning 1st Section G making it his third Section Win of the Old Bird Sea (340 Birds) while also having a top finish in 5th Open N.I.P.A. (3,338 Birds) The Section Winner for the Delaney’s GB22 A 80092 is from the well renowned successful bloodlines of Geralds O’Roory Hill Stud NI. Willy Jacobs x Luc Vervoort. Also Stephen Delaney was winner of Harmony H.P.S. with the same bloodlines a great weekend at the races.
