JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G
MARKEY ‘MAMBO NO. 5’
Another big race being held this week with another national race on the cards. This one being the
annual N.I.P.A. Yearling Inland National. Saturday the 14 th of June was scheduled Racemarking in
allocated Centres for the Yearling only 20 Bird Limit Dunmanway Yearling Inland National. A total of
241 Members sent 2,210 Birds to the Dunmanway Yearling Inland National in County Cork. On Friday
the 15 th of June the Birds were liberated at 11:45AM in a Light West Wind.
The Winning Bird from the Yearling Inland National Race belongs to Owen Markey of Ballyholland
H.P.S in Section G.
A Phenomenal Old Bird Season it has been for the Ballyholland flyer now making it a total of 5
N.I.P.A. Open Wins and to be reminded its only June. A dedicated fancier that has the eyes of the UK
and further afield watching. And for good reason has to be regarded as the Top Racing Loft in
Europe.
Now making it number 5 for 2025 the Winner of the Dunmanway Inland National from 2,210 Birds
with 'Mambo Zot’
‘Mambo Zot’ GB24 A 66766 clocked in Winning Velocity of 1622.59.
She is also the winner of 12th Open NIPA 21,660 Birds. 44th Open NIPA 5,702 Birds. 50th Open NIPA
23,289 Birds. Her nestmate was also 2nd Open NIPA 5,720 Birds BBLM.
She is another from the phenomenal strike rate of Kevin Rooney & Kristopher Rooney
Her father is a son of the super "511" when he was paired to a daughter of "De Zot" of Luc Vervoort
& Nicole Van Nuffel.

SECTION C REPORT
The Winner of Section C (46/354) from Dunmanway Yearling Inland National was J&D Braniff of Glen
H.P.S. Joe & David had a great result in Winning Section C (354 Birds) and a fantastic result in
winning 2 nd National N.I.P.A. (2,210 Birds) The Yearling Section Winner was raced on Widowhood. He
is bred from a son of their Griffiths Cock. The Sire of the cock they timed being section bird of the
year 2022.

SECTION D REPORT
The Winner of Section D (28/347) from Dunmanway Yearling Inland National was O&M Monaghan of
Colin H.P.S. The Monaghan’s had another super result of the season in Winning Section D (347 Birds)
and overall in the National succeeded in a podium finish in winning 3 rd N.I.P.A. National (2,210 Birds)
The Section Winner Sire is bred from a pair of Van Herks from Rab Rea of Larne. The Dam is from our
good friend Clyde Rollins of Hills & Maze and the dam herself was 1 st Club, 4 th Section Skibbereen.
The Cock is a consistent racer Dunmanway and few weeks back also 65 th Open from Corrin 5 Bird. As
a young bird this cock was 6 th Section Fermoy, 8 th Section Roscrea and 157 th Open INFC Skibbereen YB
National.

The Winner of Section F (15/141) from Dunmanway Inland National was McCartan & Woodside of
Crossgar H.P.S. The top racing duo scored big from the National Winning 1 st Section F Centre and
being rewarded with 1 st Section F from (141 Birds) and winners of a top five finish in 5 th National
(2,210 Birds) The Section F Winning Pigeon is a Blue Cheq cock. Sire and Dam are both from K
Rooney & Son. Breeding is Stefan Lambrechts. Patrick Boeckx and Herman Cuesters. The Cock was
21 st Open NIPA in the 5 Bird. He was also 2 nd Club from the Skibbereen OB National and 3 rd Club from
the EDC Skibbereen OB Classic this year. Last year as a YB from the Dunmanway YB National he
finished 4 th Section.

race in being the National Winner with 1 st Newry Centre. 1 st Section G (302 Birds) and ultimately
rounding an unforgettable day in 1 st National Prize winner (2,210 Birds)
